- Q: I'm on the Skills Database- am I automatically eligible for an ACE card?
- A: No, you'll need an ECITB N/SVQ Level 3 in one of the relevant trades. Click here to view trades which as eligible for the ACE card.
- Q: I am interested in becoming an assessor. How do I do this?
- A: You must first be nominated and have your assessor application endorsed by an approved centre who you will then be registered with. You will subsequently need to achieve the A1 assessor qualification.
- Q: Are assessors transferable between companies?
- A: Yes, provided the companies are ECITB Approved Centres. One Approved Centre can also carry out assessments on behalf of a number of companies.
- Q: I have a SEMTA qualification, can I get my ACE Card?
- A: No, currently only ECITB N/SVQ Level 3 qualifications are eligible. Click here to view the current ACE eligibility paper.
- Q: Will transient labour be included in the scheme?
- A: The stakeholders of ACE are working with employers and trade unions to achieve this through ACE regional groups. The N/SVQ assessment does not have to be completed in one job and can be transferred between Approved Centres, Companies and Sites.
- Q: Will possesion of an ACE card mean that welders don't need to do a test before going on site?
- A: No. All compulsory tests will still need to be carried out.
- Q: Is there a deadline for assessment or completion of a VQ?
- A: Not for ECITB qualifications
- Q: Will all skills appear on the ACE card if someone is multi-skilled?
- A: Yes- if they hold more than one ECITB N/SVQ at Level 3.
- Q: Do ACE cards have an expiry date?
- A: The ACE card must be renewed after 5 years.
